About This Role
About the Role You'll design and maintain the production infrastructure that powers our platform at scale. As a core member of our infrastructure team, you'll own cloud architecture decisions, build reliable systems using modern IaC practices, and solve complex problems in distributed systems reliability. Your work will directly enable product teams to ship faster while maintaining the performance and cost efficiency our customers depend on. This is platform engineering with high impact - the systems you build today will scale with us for years to come. Our Stack - Cloud platforms:** AWS or GCP with multi-account architecture and modern networking patterns - IaC and orchestration:** Terraform · Kubernetes · Docker · Helm for declarative infrastructure management - CI/CD and automation:** GitHub Actions or GitLab CI · Python/Go scripting · ArgoCD for GitOps deployments - Observability stack:** Prometheus · Grafana · Datadog · PagerDuty for monitoring, alerting, and incident response What You'll Do - Design and implement cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, optimizing for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency - Own end-to-end infrastructure projects from architectural design through production deployment and ongoing operational excellence - Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration pipelines that support multiple engineering teams - Analyze system performance metrics and infrastructure costs to identify optimization opportunities and implement data-driven improvements - Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability standards using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch to ensure proactive issue detection - Participate in on-call rotation for production systems, leading incident response and conducting thorough root cause analysis - Partner with security, platform, and product engineering teams to define infrastructure requirements and ensure cross-functional alignment What We're Looking For - 3-5 years of professional experience building and operating cloud infrastructure in production environments, with demonstrated ownership of scalable systems - Hands-on AWS or GCP expertise — you've architected multi-account environments, optimized costs, and debugged networking issues at 2am, not just completed certification courses - Strong Infrastructure as Code fundamentals with Terraform - you write modular, reusable configurations and understand state management, not just copy-paste from examples - Production container orchestration experience - you've deployed services to Kubernetes, debugged pod networking, and understand the operational implications of your architectural decisions - Proficiency in Python or Go for infrastructure automation - you build tools to solve recurring problems rather than manually repeating tasks - Systematic approach to reliability and observability - you instrument systems with meaningful metrics, set up actionable alerts, and conduct thorough post-incident reviews - Proven ability to own infrastructure projects end-to-end with minimal supervision - from initial design through production deployment and ongoing maintenance Nice to Have - Experience operating Kubernetes in production with a focus on performance tuning, cluster upgrades, and troubleshooting complex networking or storage issues - Track record of implementing CI/CD pipelines that improved deployment velocity or reliability (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or similar) - Familiarity with observability tooling beyond basic monitoring - structured logging, distributed tracing, or SLO/SLI frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack) Bonus Points - Open-source contributions to infrastructure projects or public blog posts sharing technical learnings from production incidents - Experience with GitOps workflows and declarative infrastructure management at scale - Prior work implementing SRE practices such as chaos engineering, error budgets, or toil reduction initiatives
