About This Role
Director of Machine Learning | AI-First Recruiting Platform Lead machine learning strategy and execution at a fast-growing AI-first recruiting platform transforming talent acquisition through intelligent automation. As Director of ML, you'll architect and scale production ML systems that power resume parsing, candidate matching, and predictive hiring pipelines serving enterprise B2B clients across Europe. Own the ML roadmap, build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, and drive adoption of advanced techniques including NLP, embeddings, and ranking algorithms. You'll work in a remote-first, startup environment where technical leadership directly impacts product value and company growth. Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate business requirements into scalable ML solutions, establish ML best practices, and ensure model performance and governance standards.
Requirements
- Lead and mentor ML engineering teams of 4+ engineers with proven track record of hiring and developing talent
- Design, build, and deploy production ML systems at scale with experience in NLP, ranking, or recommendation systems
- Demonstrate 8+ years of machine learning engineering or research experience with 3+ years in leadership or senior IC roles
- Own ML strategy, roadmap planning, and cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Data teams
- Establish ML best practices including experimentation frameworks, model evaluation, monitoring, and governance
- Proficiency in Python, modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
