Senior Frontend Engineer

About the Role We're looking for a senior frontend engineer to own the architecture and performance of our user-facing products. You'll drive technical decisions around our React component library, establish patterns that scale across teams, and ensure every interface we ship is fast, accessible, and maintainable. This role combines deep technical craft with meaningful influence - your architectural choices will shape how engineers across the company build features, and your code reviews will set the standard for frontend excellence. Our Stack - Frontend: React · TypeScript · Vite · CSS Modules · Tailwind - Testing & Quality: Jest · Playwright · Storybook · Chromatic visual regression - Collaboration & Tooling: Figma for design handoff · GraphQL APIs · GitHub Actions CI/CD · Datadog performance monitoring What You'll Do - Own end-to-end frontend architecture for core product surfaces, from component design to production performance monitoring - Design and maintain the company's React component library and design system implementation, balancing flexibility with consistency - Analyze performance bottlenecks using Chrome DevTools and custom instrumentation, then architect solutions that measurably improve load times and runtime efficiency - Partner with product and design teams to translate complex user workflows into intuitive, accessible interfaces that meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards - Mentor mid-level engineers through code reviews and pairing sessions, establishing best practices for TypeScript patterns, testing strategies, and state management - Evaluate and propose modern tooling improvements - from build optimizations in Vite to advanced testing patterns in Playwright - that enhance developer experience - Drive cross-functional technical discussions with backend engineers to design APIs and data contracts that enable optimal frontend performance What We're Looking For - 6+ years of professional frontend engineering experience building production web applications in a team environment - Deep expertise in React and TypeScript — you've architected component systems, not just consumed them, and can articulate tradeoffs in state management, rendering strategies, and API design - Strong performance optimization skills with hands-on experience profiling, debugging, and improving frontend performance metrics (Core Web Vitals, bundle size, runtime efficiency) - Proven track record building accessible, responsive user interfaces that meet WCAG standards and work across browsers and devices - Solid understanding of modern build tooling (Webpack, Vite, or similar) and ability to optimize development and production pipelines - Experience with comprehensive testing strategies - you've written unit tests (Jest), integration tests, and end-to-end tests (Playwright, Cypress) and can advocate for the right testing approach for different scenarios - Strong collaboration skills with designers and backend engineers - you translate Figma designs into production code and work effectively with REST or GraphQL APIs - Comfort making architectural decisions independently and defending them in design reviews with clear reasoning about maintainability, scalability, and developer experience Nice to Have - Experience building or contributing to design systems or component libraries used across multiple products or teams - Familiarity with e-commerce or marketplace platforms - understanding of catalog management, checkout flows, inventory systems, or fulfillment workflows - Prior experience mentoring mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, or technical design feedback
